“God is closest to those with broken hearts.”
—Jewish Proverb
Like a spooked horse tracing a fitful path across the sky, a recently discovered asteroid is veering erratically between the orbits of Saturn and Uranus. Strangely, it can change shape and size without warning. An odd little planetoid, to be sure—odd but majestically powerful. And so, in 1975, it was appropriately named Chiron after the mysterious centaur, the elusive and savagely unpredictable half-man, half-beast of ancient Greek mythology. Unbridled passion: rarely seen and running wild. I have studied this asteroid for most of my life.
Astrologically, this remarkable little orb can show us exactly how deeply we have been wounded by life and how best to heal. No easy lesson, this. At approximately age 50, we must all experience the return of Chiron’s lost innocence, long-denied passions, and hidden memories. Chiron demands complete emotional integration and reveals the essential pathway of self-compassion.
Presently, Chiron is retrograde in the sign of Aquarius. Before November 5, expect to experience visceral dreams and feel deep moments of joy coupled with surprising bouts of sorrow. A complex emotional clearing is taking place and will, throughout much of December, bring long-term relationships back to their original state of love. Those born between 1955 and 1961 will likely undergo profound, life-changing revelations.
Always remember: only fire strengthens steel.
