The sequel to 2010's Greek Film Festival Opening Night feature film continues the laughs with some unexpected twists and grotesque situations.

Fast forward five years, and the ‘heroes' from The Island, Babis (Vladimiros Kiriakidis) and Afroditi (Zeta Douka), prepare for release from jail. A long-term inmate starts blabbing about the existence of a treasure trove on the island that dates back to the Ottoman occupation, which, of course, tweaks their interest.

Various ‘alliances' and spurious friendships emerge as they search for the buried treasure and reunite with the islanders we now know and love - that includes the ghost of Olympia who has the whole island in a stir... or is it actually Olympia?

With an all-too familiar tone and Cycladic backdrop, The Island 2 propagates what Christos Dimas' original box office smash did so well, although with Antonis Aggelopoulos ably holding the directorial reins.
