The Lucky Eye is also known as the Evil Eye. In Greek, the Evil Eye or Lucky Eye is called The Mati. In Spanish The Lucky Eye or Evil Eye is called Ojo Turco or Amuleto Turco. In Turkey the Lucky Eye or Evil Eye is called Nazar Boncuk. Hamsa, known as Fatimah by Muslins; Miriam among Jews; drishti or nazar in India; Armenians refer to the evil eye bead as atchk odoonk; char atchk; uroki in Bulgarian and all offering protection against the evil eye. The evil eye is a belief that the envy elicited by the good luck of fortunate people may result in their misfortune. The perception of the nature of the phenomenon, its causes, and possible protective measures, varies between different cultures.
