DNA affected by previous partners
When a woman breaks up with a man, she usually wants every remnant of him removed from her life. A new study suggests that, try as she might, there may be one last piece of him that she’s stuck with for good: his DNA. A study from Australia has managed to prove that fly offspring are able to resemble a mother’s previous sexual partner, even when conceived with their father’s sperm.
The idea of telegony, or previous mates influencing a woman’s offspring, has been around for centuries. It was first proposed by the Greek philosopher Aristotle and was accepted as science until the early 1900s when it was disproved and replaced by more modern genetic theory, according to the study's press release. Unfortunately, the theory was largely used as a fear tactic to prevent women from copulating with different races or lower classes, but the study suggests the theory may have some elements of truth — for flies, at least.http://www.medicaldaily.com/dna-sperm-ex-partners-lingers-female-flies-and-influences-genetics-her-offspring-305934

Venus and Jupiter in love this week
The week begins with Venus continuing its love in with Jupiter which goes on until Wednesday. This is a perfect aspect for this time of year because it does create a greater sense of joyfulness and the desire to have fun and be sociable. Yet as ever in astrology there is always a counter influence which is less positive and this one is that Jupiter begins a retrograde on Monday which is going to last until the early part of April 2015. Now this doesn't mean that were all going to dramatically become unfortunate, but it's just caution on us that we need to be hard-working, and refuse to take any situation for granted.
It's possible that in the wider economic world, that there may be a more risk averse dynamic which creeps in. The second half at 2015 incidentally, is probably going to see more not less of this. But despite this one condition the Sun is combining brilliantly with Mercury all week, superb for travel, widening of our horizons or meeting new people. If you have any love of other cultures, history or just basic fact-finding you can be in your element during this time. Yet because Sagittarius were both these are located, can be a forthright influence it is going to be important to make sure that your facts are correct before you are opine on anything of note.
Thursday sees Venus move into more cautious influence of Capricorn. This can be a sincere transit, if a more sombre one. By the very end of this week Saturday and Sunday, Venus will start to forge a rather awe-inspiring angle with Neptune. Now of course we had Neptune causing a certain amount of mischievousness in its squares with Venus, Mercury and the Sun from the middle of November to the start of December. However this dynamic can be much better, super for being more concerned about those who are less fortunate, and acts of kindness, generally. In love it can also create a situation where some kind of dreamlike connection can be achieved with someone special. It would be possible to find true love under this influence, but just try to keep one foot on terra firma.
On Sunday there is Quarter Moon in the sign of Virgo. With such a lot going on at this time of year the inference here is that if you're trying to spin lots of different plates, it might be best to prioritise which plates need spinning the most!

Agia Barbara Pudding (Asure)
English: Ashure traditional desert in Komotini, Greece.
Türkçe: Aşure

Growing up Greek on MTV is Trailer Trash
The MTV reality show on the life of Greek Americans in Tarpon Springs has raised strong opposition in the ranks of the Greek American Community
.“Growing Up Greek” is being accused by many expatriates as showing a shallow, overpopularized and defamatory side of the Greek American Community.
Libel or simple satire? Embarrassing approach or representation of reality? In any case, MTV's reality show Growing Up Greek has garnered the attention of the Greeks in the US before it has even gone live! The "extreme" character and the parallels with the controversial - but popular - Jersey Shore, have led to an electronic signature collection for the cancellation of the project! On their part, supporters believe that it showsa side of Greek-American Diaspora and advise the public to see it. http://www.thetoc.gr/eng/new-trends/article/mtvs-growing-up-greek-raises-expat-eyebrows

There's Still Hope for You Ἑλλάς (Greece)
http://www.theartisticmuse.com/poehemian-press.html
Poehemian Press was born on a nival January eve blooming with poetic promise in the year two thousand and twelve. Eva Xanthopoulos was the culprit for thiscataclysmic creation and her goal is to support poets and artists everywhere by publishing an eclectic assortment of unique works including poetry, art, and even book reviews. Through the power of words and masterpieces, she also supports various causes such as The World Wildlife Fund and The Whole Planet Foundation (to name a few). This press may not be particularly prestigious just yet, but it still aims to pen its name in the grand pool of poetic consciousness and only seeks good-quality work that is considered to be the contributor's personal best. Thus far, over one hundred writers and artists have been published.

Artist manipulates 48 pools of water with Brain Waves
In her own words:
“Eunoia” is a performance that uses my brainwaves — collected via EEG sensor– to manipulate the motions of water. It derives from the Greek word “ey” (well) + “nous” (mind) meaning “beautiful thinking”. EEG is a brainwave detecting sensor. It measures frequencies of my brain activity (Alpha, Beta, Delta, Gamma, Theta) relating to my state of consciousness while wearing it. The data collected from EEG is translated in realtime to modulate vibrations of sound with using software programs. EEG sends the information of my brain activity to Processing, which is linked with Max/MSP to receive data and generate sound from Reaktor.
“I believe that human emotions come with corresponding waves of energy that we carry within,” Park says in the video. Eunoia II metaphorically gives those waves faculty and visibility, continuing the exploration she began in her first Eunoia performance.
Evidence to Marijuana's potential role in fighting Alzheimer's.
With a drug war against marijuana still raging in more countries than not, the question of how long-term marijuana use effects the human brain is a pivotal question in its legalization.
Luckily, the debate can finally move out from the realm of opinion into scientific evidence as researchers from the University of Texas just published their research into the long-term effects of marijuana use on the brain in PNAS (Proceedings of the NationalAcademy of Sciences).
The researcher helped dispel the dying myth that marijuana use lowers IQ, and actually provides more evidence to marijuana's potential role in fighting Alzheimer's.
The research revealed that earlier onset of regular marijuana use leads to greater structural and functional connectivity in the brain. The most significant increases in connectivity appear as an individual begins using marijuana, with results showing that the severity of use is directly correlated to greater connectivity.
Although these results will need to be confirmed with a larger sample (this was based on roughly 100 participants), the preliminary results do seem promising. More research will need to be done in order to see if these differences are caused by, or simply associated with, long term marijuana use.
They also found reduced gray matter in the OFC (orbitofrontalcortex) in long-term users (which is a brain region associated with addiction), it is unclear whether this region is simply smaller in regular users (explaining their regular use) or if the use actually contributed to structural brain changes. These results will also need to be contrasted with other researcher showing that cannabinoids actually promote brain cell growth (neurogensis) even in adults.

Mary Katrantzou
Mary Katrantzou was born in Athens in 1983, to an interior designer mother and a father who worked in textile design. Having developed an appreciation of applied design from an early age, she moved to America to study for a BA in Architecture at the Rhode Island school of design, before transferring to Central Saint Martins to complete her BA degree in textile design. Graduating from her BA in 2005, Katrantzou shifted her direction from textile design to womenswear with a focus on print. When studying at Central Saint Martin’s, she became interested in the way that printed textiles can change the shape of a woman’s body and went on to graduate in MA Fashion from Central Saint Martins with distinction.

Kalash The Lost Children of Alexander the Great
When the great hero and general, Alexander, who was as great as the god Apollo and Zeus, left his troops here, he asked them to stay here in this land without changing their Hellenic beliefs and traditions, their Hellenic laws and culture until he returned from the battles in the East…”
This is a story that is told not in a village in Greece but on the the mountainsides of the great Hindu Kush. In this remote area of the northwestern region of Pakistan lives a peculiar tribe, the Kalash. The Kalash proclaim with pride that they are the direct descendents of Alexander the Great.
There are many similarities between them and the Hellenes of Alexander the Great’s time. Similarities such as religion, culture, and language reinforce their claims to Hellenic ancestry.
The Kalash are a polytheistic people, meaning that they believe in many gods. The gods that they believe in are the twelve gods of Ancient Greece which makes them the only people who continue this worship!

Pamukkale, meaning "cotton castle" in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine city of Hierapolis was built on top of the white "castle". The area was is declared a World Heritage Site.

Hierapolis was a prosperous city in the Roman province of Asia, situated above the junction of the rivers Lycus and Meander Rivers, 12 miles northwest of Colossae, 6 miles north of Laodicea and 100 miles east of Ephesus. Little is known of its early history. It may have originated as a Phrygian cult center, from which it took the name Hieropolis "city of the heiron" (sanctuary). The city itself is usually said to have been founded around 190 BC by king Eumenes II of Pergamum, with the official name of Hierapolis, possibly derived from Hiera, wife of King Telephos, the legendary founder of Pergamum.

George Dalaras North American Rembetika Unplugged Tour
Globe Entertainment, a music and artist production agency in New York City announced it will present Greek legend George Dalaras in a multi-city tour in North America. Dalaras, Greece’s biggest selling musical artist in history. The tour will begin with a show in New York City on November 20th at Town Hall. Dalaras and his group will perform in theaters across the United States and Canada, eight years after this last tour.
“Rembetiko Unplugged” is the title of this grand musical journey, which is a tribute to rembetiko music— also known as “Greek Blues” music. This is a style that George Dalaras has approached with consistency and knowledge throughout his career. In the past, critics in Europe have tied these rembetiko performances with flamenco and fado. Possessing a deep knowledge on the style, Dalaras is one of the singers credited with revitalizing rembetiko music in Greece, making its timeless elements known to Greeks and European audiences, alike .http://protomagazine.ca/?p=77

Freddie Prinze dead at 22, The tragic side of Comedy
Another tragic story, seems comedy is a bipolar, depression and drug use arena, comedy hiding all the pain inside. Freddie died at 22, under the influence of drugs. What a sad ending to what had become a fairytale story. I will always remember him as long as I live, I grew up watching his show and to this day I feel a sadness in my heart that the world lost such a beautiful soul so needlessly, just as we have lost so many before him and after him, the list just keeps growing. Could anything have been done to help him? We will never know.

RIP Loukanikos
Loukanikos, the Greek word for sausage, was about ten years old. He died peacefully on the couch of the man who was watching the once stray Greek dog. His veterinarian explained that his health had been deteriorating, probably caused by repeated exposure to tear gas and chemicals used by riot police during the numerous demonstrations that Loukanikos took part in over the years.

Amal Alamuddin represents Greece in Monumental case
Amal Alamuddin is representing the Greek government in one of the most controversial cultural arguments of recent history as she prepares to try to win the return of the Parthenon Marbles to Greece.
The Elgin Marbles, as they are called in the United Kingdon, are the classical sculptures from Athens’ ancient Parthenon that are housed in London’s British Museum. They were removed from the ruins on the Acropolis by British ambassador Thomas Bruce, the 7th Earl of Elgin, in the early 19th century.
Greece and activists throughout the world call it a a scandalous cultural heist when the marbles were stripped from the temple and taken illegally by the British diplomat under the approval of the Ottoman leaders at the time. British officials maintain it was a sensible protective measure. The rightful ownership of the marbles has been fiercely debated for decades.
The poet Byron protested their removal at the time, musing “cursed be the hour when from their isle they roved”. More recently, celebrities, politicians and average citizens alike have joined the bandwagon to return the marbles to Greece, but British museum officials remain firm that they are the rightful owners.
Cappadocia
Cappadocia is mentioned in the Biblical account given in the book of Acts 2:9, with the Cappadocians being named as one of the people groups hearing the Gospel account from Galileans in their own language on the day of Pentecost shortly after the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Acts 2:5 seems to suggest that the Cappadocians in this account were “God-fearing Jews”.
The Natural Rock Citadel of Uçhisar – is the highest peak in the region. It is completely honeycombed with ancient dwellings. Many of these spaces were used as cave monasteries, though today they mostly inspire photographers and artists. Its honeycombed architecture is revealed by erosion and suggests intense fortification and infrastructure.

Past Lives from the mouth of babes
Children can have verifiable past life memories that can be independently corroborated. They can present specific names, places and events that they never can had a chance to know about. These specifics can be confirmed by going back years in the public records. Birth marks and birth defects can show up in situ of weapons wounds that caused their often violent or traumatic death.

Lindy Cowling - The Dark Side Of Twin Flames
This video is only to promote awareness in an area not often spoken about.... not fear. It covers some of the 'darker' elements of energy and NOT so divine intervention whilst processing through ' A Spiritual Soul Level Connection' with another person OR RARELY in a genuine Twin Flame Union. Whilst these negative aspects are not common experiences these may include the shadow aspect, the opposite polarities,(light and dark) entities, attachments, negative thoughtforms, implants, false twins,(an energy that mimics a twin flame but isn't one to cause havoc within the timeline). Also as part of some people's spiritual growth one is sometimes plunged into ' A Dark Night Of The Soul' for self awareness CHANGE and healing. Although rarely occurring the most common bloodline/personality for 'darker' challenges or 'disruptor energies' to 'show up' is within the Narcissistic/bdp one. Most often this has nothing at all to do with genuine Twin Flame Unions but it is the addictive belief of 'unrequited soul love' that keeps one engaged with cycles of suffering. Also family and friends can negatively influence/manipulate/disrupt and PROJECT their 3d issues and 3d belief programs onto 5D spiritual soul connections including Twin Flames as 5D 'challenges' ALL the old 3D programs/beliefs! NEGATIVE ENERGIES CAN ONLY DISRUPT THROUGH THE LOWER 3D VIBRATIONS OF EGO BASED TRAITS SUCH AS FEAR CONTROL MANIPULATION. THE PURE FREQUENCY OF LOVE IN YOUR 5D HEART IS UNCORRUPTABLE SO TRANSITION INTO TRUSTING AND FOLLOWING YOUR OWN HEART THIS IS THE TWIN FLAME LEVEL OF TRUE LOVE AND CONNECTION BUT THE HEART IS ALSO THE DIVINE LOVE THAT EVERYBODY IS AND HAS ACCESS TO! YOUR HEART IS ASCENSION
