Kasidiaris sues Kanelli ( rolls her eyes)
ATHENS, Greece — The Greek extreme-right party spokesman who caused an uproar last week by slapping one female politician on live TV and throwing a glass of water on another has sued the two women as well as the television channel that hosted the news show.
The move Monday by Ilias Kasidiaris, the 31-year-old spokesman for the extremist Golden Dawn party, is the latest twist in a bizarre political saga. Kasidiaris himself avoided an arrest warrant for the confrontation last Thursday, resurfacing late Sunday after the warrant had expired.
Kasidiris appeared at an Athens court Monday, flanked by other party members, to submit lawsuits against Communist Party candidate Liana Kanelli and Syriza party member Rena Dourou on charges of alleged unprovoked insults and against Antenna television for alleged illegal detention.
Authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Kasidiaris after he threw water over Dourou and then slapped Kanelli hard three times across the face during a heated discussion on a morning political show Thursday. A video of that show has been widely seen on the Internet.
Under Greek law, an arrest warrant for a misdemeanor must be carried out by midnight the day after the act has occurred, in which case a trial is immediate. If the suspect is not apprehended within that time frame, the case turns into a judicial procedure in which a trial date is set, often for several months or even years later.
Kasidiaris laid low immediately after the incident, but resurfaced Sunday evening at the opening of a Golden Dawn office in an outlying part of Athens. No court date has been set yet for him.
Kasidiaris argues that he was provoked by insults during the television show and that the 58-year-old Kanelli hit him first with a newspaper.
Moments after Kasidiaris hit Kanelli, the channel cut to a commercial break and when the program resumed, Kasidiaris was no longer there. Attempts were made to hold him in an office room while the police were called, but he broke through the door and left.
He said Monday he was also suing a journalist at Antenna for “instigation to abuse of power” for allegedly provoking a prosecutor to order his arrest.
Kasidiaris had also been due to stand trial Monday in a separate case, in which he is accused of participating in a 2007 attack on a student. The case was postponed to Sept 3. In it, he faces charges of assisting in a robbery and bodily harm after his car was allegedly used in the incident. Washington Post

Greeks protest against Golden Dawn Party
Thousands have protested in Greece against the far-right Golden Dawn party after one of its members assaulted a woman on live TV.
Demonstrators shouted "Neo-Nazis out" in rallies called by left-wing and anti-racism groups in Athens.
On Thursday, Ilias Kasidiaris, a Golden Dawn MP, was filmed hitting a left-wing politician during a chatshow.
The rally comes nine days before elections which could result in a Greek exit from the Eurozone.
In polls a month ago, Golden Dawn surprised many by winning 21 seats in Greece's 300-seat parliament.
A second election is taking place as no party was able to forge a coalition.
Prosecutors said an arrest warrant has been issued for Mr Kasidiaris, whose whereabouts remain unknown after he fled the television studio on Thursday.
The assault took place during a live debate on a daily morning political show on the private Antenna television.
Mr Kasidiaris appeared to have been provoked when Rena Dourou of the radical left-wing Syriza party mentioned his alleged involvement in an armed robbery in 2007.
He jumped up and threw a glass of water across the table at her, a You Tube clip of the Antenna television channel showed.
When Liana Kanelli of the Greek Communist party, the KKE, apparently threw a newspaper at him, he responded by slapping her around the face with three right-left blows.
Speaking to a TV station from an undisclosed location on Friday, Mr Kasidiaris said he had been provoked.
"She (Communist party member Liana Kanelli) raised her hand and hit me first and since I respect my honour and my name, I had to defend myself. The police ought to arrest her," he told Star TV, according to Reuters news agency.The government and other political parties have condemned the attack.
"The government condemns in the most categorical way the attack by Golden Dawn spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris against Liana Kanelli and Rena Dourou," government spokesman Dimitris Tsiodras said. "This attack is an attack against every democratic citizen."
Mr Kasidiaris is already facing charges of theft and bodily harm, which he denies. Golden Dawn campaigned on an anti-immigrant platform, and has even proposed planting mines along Greek borders to prevent the entry of migrants. It has been accused of violent attacks against immigrants in Athens, but denies the claims..

This phase is generally associated with working out the original urge of the New Moon, as that impulse interacts with the necessities implicit in the actual real-world situation. Mercuryis conjuncted by the Sun in this configuration, and squares Chironexactly, meaning that certain aspects of long-buried trauma are coming into consciousness, leading to healing them. This phase paves the way for the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse that comes along a week later and also redolent of difficulty, metamorphosis and lasting change.

Fifty shades of Grey Trilogy has wicked sales
CBS/AP) NEW YORK - The "Fifty Shades of Grey" trilogy is making lots of green.
Sales for E.L. James' erotic novels are at 10 million and counting, making it among the fastest-selling series of all time.
The explicit sensation has topped charts practically from the moment Vintage Books released it in early April. Reprints have exceeded 900,000 copies in a single day, the publisher announced Tuesday. Total sales include paperbacks, e-books and audio books. Vintage is a paperback imprint of Random House Inc.
Publishers Weekly reported that sales of "Fifty Shades of Grey" jumped 40 percent in the week before Mother's Day, as compared to the previous week, selling almost 443,000 copies.
The "Fifty Shades" books began as fan fiction, inspired by the "Twilight" series, and were a word-of-mouth hit after first being distributed in 2011 by the Australia-based Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House.
Film rights were acquired by Universal Pictures and Focus Features in March.

After WW1, when parts of Hungary folded into the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Bartok’s access to his ‘inspiration’, theGypsies (and their music) was also cut off, his music compositions also declined. In the true ‘cultural dacoity’ mode, Bartok (after emigrating to USA), covered his tracks and found ingenious ways to deny the Roma-Gypsy influence. Between Bela Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly and Leos Janacek, they recorded 6000 Roma-Gypsy tunes on wax cylinders. The wax cylinders on which Bartok, Zoltan Kodaly and Leos Janacek copied Roma-Gypsy music are now sought after items.
It is the dances of the Roma Gypsies behind the European cultural icon – the Flamenco! The rumba and the tango. It is the Gypsies (along with the Arabs) who brought Indian musicsystems to Europe – based on which the Western music system developed over the last 300-400 years. The iconic guitar is a modified Indian musical instrument – brought to Europe by the Gypsies, which the West tries ‘passing off’ as their own. Hittites, the Indo Aryans of the Middle East, before the Gypsies had an instrument similar to the guitar. Why am I not surprised when flamenco style, Roma-Gypsy music group, Los Del Rio’s Macarena became a big hit in India. This contribution to modern and classical Western music by the Roma-Gypsy remains unacknowledged – and the Western arrogation continues unmitigated.

Modern day Roma Gypsies made their first mark in Europe in Provence. The richness of the Roma-Gypsy music (of India) overwhelmed the people of Southern France. They whole heartedly, assimilated the Gypsies (then known as troubadours) and their culture – warmly. 500 years later, across a bleak Europe, the French poet Voltaire, the English WB Yeats, lamented and longed for Provence and the richness of the Provencal culture. I am so lucky to be Lisa Marie Rice! There is no literary genre anywhere remotely as exciting and thrilling as erotic romantic suspense.
It has absolutely everything: red-hot passion, danger, adventure, heart-stopping love.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy sitting down to the keyboard and bleeding…er, writing my heart out, falling in love with my men over and over and over again. Well, why not? My men are brave and smart and built. And boy do they love their women!
Their women are much more interesting than new weaponry, sports cars, and even plasma TVs in their eyes,
and the fascination will last their entire lifetimes, I promise. It’s sex, of course, but also a whole lot more. My heroes genuinely like and admire their women, though in the beginning this is sometimes obscured by blinding lust.
Once that first sharp edge of desire is over and they settle down a little—and that will take several years and a kid or two—they’re so bonded with their women that they couldn’t live without them. And it is so much fun "being" my heroines while writing about them.
You may have noticed that most, if not all, of my heroines are artsy in some way, just like me. It just sort of comes out that way.
There’s not much calculation when creating my characters: They literally become alive for me and when my character says—I’m a singer or a designer or I love books—well, that’s that.
It’s fabulous sitting here in my not-perfect body and becoming the beautiful young woman that that ornery alpha male is glomming on to. Of course, my heroines are also in dire peril, which is not so much fun.
And which is why I’m the writer and not the heroine (give or take a few years and a few pounds).
One true fact: Looking out of my study across my wonderful terrace I see a bright blue line which is the Ionian Sea. And if I had a powerful enough telescope I could see the Greek temple where Pythagoras taught.

South Node and North Node
The frenetic, constant communication, sound-bite versions of Gemini have been tamed to a certain extent by the North Node in Sagittarius/South Node in Gemini (March 3, 2011 - August 29, 2012). The huge glut of constantly updating information has been stemmed somewhat - or people have at least taken their leave of a lot of it. But there are still plenty of hot spot South Node draws in this arena. There are many places on the worldwide web we should just stay away from, many sources of information, entertainment, and perspective that are not good for us to be around - and for some, this blog may be one of them! But the South Node is like moth to flame, and it will be difficult to refuse old draws, old connections, old gossip, old society, old mental pathways.
A lot of the information out there is the equivalent of mental or verbal junk food, and with all the mental stress going on, we'll be tempted to gorge ourselves. There's nothing wrong with eating a bag of kettle chips once in a while - but this South Node is going to be tempting us to do it daily, and then add a Big Mac, fries, and milkshake to it.
This is the differentiation between information that nourishes and satisfies and the kind that leaves us empty, craving, looking for repeated fixes.
Being aware of mental addictions and information habits and managing them wisely keeps the balance with this nodal axis. Avoid conversations that go nowhere, and avoid the types of charged connections that lead to the magnetic quagmire zone.
